Even the most skilled individuals can experience such issues. A home dye kit that didn’t quite go as planned. A result from a previous salon that left you feeling flat. Or maybe you’ve decided you want an entirely different direction and your hair needs a bit of help getting there. That’s what colour correction is for.
At Aneia Warner Salon in Kumeu, colour correction is one of the services we take seriously. It requires experience, a thorough understanding of colour theory, and a realistic plan, which is why we ask that you contact us before booking rather than scheduling online. We want to ensure your success from the start, as every correction is unique.
Colour correction covers a wide range of situations from fixing brassiness and uneven tones to full colour removal and dramatic shade changes. If your hair has been overprocessed, stripped, or just taken in a direction you’re not happy with, correction work can help restore both the colour you want and its health.
It’s one of the most technically demanding and rewarding salon services. Our senior colourists have seen it all, and they love a rewarding challenge.
Because no two corrections are the same, we don’t have a fixed price for this service.
When you get in touch, we’ll ask a few questions about your hair history and current situation, and depending on your needs, we may recommend a consultation appointment before we begin any work.
This helps us give you an accurate timeframe, a cost estimate, and most importantly, a safe plan to get you where you want to go.
Colour correction pricing varies significantly depending on the complexity of the work involved, the current state of your hair, how many sessions are needed, and what the goal is. Rather than quote a fixed price, we prefer to assess your hair first. Get in touch and we’ll give you an honest picture of what’s involved.
It depends entirely on your starting point and where you’re trying to get to. You might be able to resolve minor corrections, such as toning down brassiness or adjusting an uneven result in one appointment. More significant changes, especially from dark to light, can take two or three sessions spaced a few weeks apart to protect your hair’s integrity.
In the hands of an experienced colourist, colour correction is done with your hair’s health at the forefront of mind. We will never push your hair past what it can safely handle in one sitting. If we think your hair needs a break between steps, we’ll tell you and explain why. Healthy hair is always the priority.
We’d actually prefer that you come in with your hair unwashed for 24 to 48 hours. Natural oils help protect your scalp during chemical services. No need to style it, just come as you are, honestly.
Colour correction requires a proper conversation before we begin – we need to understand your hair history, see photos if possible, and set realistic expectations together. Booking it as a regular appointment wouldn’t adequately represent the process. Just contact us, and we’ll take it from there.
