A scalp bleach targets new root growth, perfect for maintaining a bleached or highlighted look without overlapping onto previously lightened hair. We’ll assess your hair’s condition before we begin and will always work within what your hair can safely handle.

Our balayage services start at $275 at AW Salon in Kumeu. This will always be followed by a blow dry or style, so factor in your finishing service too. We recommend reaching out for a quote if your hair is extra long or thick.
Absolutely, though the approach depends on what’s already in your hair. This is why we love a thorough consultation. If a lot is going on with the previous colour, we’ll be upfront with you about what’s achievable safely in one visit and what might need a plan across a couple of appointments.

Yes. We use Kevin.Murphy colour across all our tinting services, a premium, low-tox formula that’s PETA certified and cruelty-free. It’s especially great for clients with sensitive scalps or anyone who has had reactions to harsher colouring products in the past.
Most clients get a scalp bleach every 6-10 weeks. Going much shorter than 6 weeks risks overlapping onto previously bleached hair, which can cause significant breakage. We’ll always check your regrowth before proceeding and recommend the right timing for your hair specifically.
In the hands of an experienced colourist, yes. We use professional-grade bleach and monitor the process carefully throughout. If we have any concerns about the condition of your hair, we’ll let you know before we start. Your hair’s health comes before any result.
Scalp bleach at our Kumeu salon starts from $230 for up to 6 weeks of regrowth. If your regrowth is more than an inch or your hair is particularly thick, extra product cost may apply. Please feel free to ask for a quote when you book.
Quite often, yes. Bleach lifts the hair’s natural pigments and depending on your hair’s colour and the level of lift achieved, a toner helps neutralise any unwanted warmth or brassiness and gives you a more polished finish. We can add a toner on the day, just mention it when you book.
